Selecting it will allow you to view the map directly in the browser, without switching between apps. Google says that you can tap and hold on an address on a page, and Chrome will display an option that reads 'View in Google Maps with Chrome'. Either that, or you may have to copy the address and run a search. Normally, when you come across an address on a web page and tap on it, it will switch to the Google Maps app on your iPhone.
